Then OCVA (Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action) can offer free tailored support, no matter what the size of the group. They provide funding advice and assistance, reduced rate certified training, access to the volunteer matching service (www.do-it.org.uk ) and much more.

They have recently appointed an on the ground community ambassador for this area to work directly with local groups and potential volunteers.

She says “I am keen to meet as many groups and potential volunteers as possible and see what sort of help they need. Whether it is fundraising, finding volunteers or volunteer opportunities or learning about how best to set up and run groups I really want to help.”

OCVA is the main support service for the Oxfordshire voluntary and community sector. Their mission is to enable a diverse voluntary and community sector to flourish. They provide advice, information and training and act as advocates for voluntary and community organisations. See www.ocva.org.uk for further details
